In this workshop, learn how to conduct a comprehensive literature review using a systematic process and a variety of methods and tools. Topics to be covered include (but are not limited to):
- defining and refining your topic and keywords
- developing and documenting your search strategy and process (including the use of a research log)
- utilizing library tools such as databases and citation management software, including other lesser-known techniques such as citation mapping, saving searches, and setting up search alerts
- identifying the most relevant sources for your work
- using methods to critically read and evaluate sources
- synthesizing sources for a variety of endpoints, including developing citation lists, annotated bibliographies, and finally a written lit review
