NY 4-H and UnitedHealthcare launch Eat4-Health program at the State Fair

New York 4-H and UnitedHealthcare will kick off their new Eat4-Health partnership to promote healthy living on Wednesday, August 29th at the State Fair. 4-H youth will join UnitedHealthcare’s mascot Dr. Health E. Hound, community leaders, and fair attendees for fun group activities and exercises designed to promote health. Former USDA Secretary Ann Veneman will also be in attendance.

The event and activities mark the launch of the new partnership between New York 4-H and UnitedHealthcare that will activate thousands of 4-H youth to make healthy choices for themselves and encourage friends, families, and people in their communities to make positive changes through training, creative programs, and educational events. New York is one of ten states participating in the partnership. Each state is receiving a $30,000 grant from UnitedHealthcare. The partnership in New York is being administered through Cornell Cooperative Extension and will focus its efforts primarily in Broome, Jefferson, Madison, and Oswego counties, among other regions of the state.

The event will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the 4-H Youth Building at the New York State Fair. This is building 37 on the State Fair map. Park near Gate 4 and the Youth Building is on the right just past the Iroquois Village.
